Celebrating three years of free community college progress

In 2015, President Barack Obama and Dr. Jill Biden joined Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam to celebrate the Tennessee Promise, which delivers free community college to recent high school graduates. Inspired by Tennessee's success, President Obama proposed making community college free throughout the country. That effort inspired a wave of new College Promise programs delivering free tuition and student support across the country. Dr. Jill Biden is continuing the momentum as Chair of the College Promise Campaign, pushing for free community college education at the local and state level. Over 200 programs, in rural communities like Racine, to major cities like Los Angeles, College Promise programs are changing lives across the nation. Here are some highlights from the rollout I crafted for the anniversary.
